Helen Lane Davis

Helen Lane Davis, 79, of Vienna, formerly of Lineville, Alabama and Salem, WV died Wednesday, February 1, 2012.

Helen was born March 4, 1932 at Salem, a daughter of the late Robert Hayes and Kathleen Greathouse Hayes Wilhelm. On August 30, 1948 she married Edsel M. Davis who preceded her in death on November 7, 2009. They were married 61 years.

Surviving is one daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Junior Cottrill, Vienna and two sons and daughters in law; Edsel and Toni Davis, Morehead City, N.C. and Michael and Patty Davis, Marietta, Oh. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren:Larry ( Lisa) Cottrill; Missy ( Randy) Sturm, Amy Jo ( Eric) Williams, Todd Davis, Wayne ( Misty) Davis and Amanda ( Karl) Connor and 7 great grandchildren; Justin Sturm, Justin Grahame, Hayley Davis, Haley Davis, Haley Sturm, Alyssa Wittekind, And Dawson Cleavenger and one sister and brother in law Lorraine and Gene Hill, Lineville, Al.

She was retired from Stone and Thomas and enjoyed camping, attending square dances and reading. Helen was a member of the Salem Seventh Day Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at the Harbert Funeral Home 289 W. Main St. Salem at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 4 with Pastor Dale Thorngate officiating. Burial will follow in the K. of P. Memorial Park at Salem. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Friday and from 9AM till time of the service on Saturday.
