Helen Faye (Davis) Richards

Helen Faye Davis Richards, 91 of Salem passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. Helen was born on April 20, 1931 in New Cumberland, WV, daughter of the late Albert Montgomery and Mary Amanda Sprauge Davis. Helen enjoyed crocheting, doing crossword puzzles and reading her bible daily. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was also the last surviving member of her immediate family. Helen is survived by two sons, Vernon “Charles” Richards, Salem, Craig Alan Richards and Tammy, Virginia; three daughters, Carol Ann Brooks, Carolina, WV, Vicki Lynn Hurst, and Cynthia K Leaseburge both of Salem; eight grandchildren, Christy Bourland and Jeff, Stephanie Russ, Joey Hurst and Shelley, Jason Hurst and Sarah, Heather Summers, Brian Leaseburge and Brittany, Bruce Richards, Aaron Leaseburge and Victoria; seventeen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; several nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Clair Richards on November 26, 1996; one daughter, Janet Faye Richards; one grandson-in-law, Joe Russ; seven siblings, Irene Williams, Joe Davis, Martha Staley, Ruth Rust, Harold Davis, Dorothy Givens, Edith LeMasters and Albert Davis. Private Services will be held at Davis Funeral Home in Salem. Interment will follow at K of P Cemetery.
