Homer Haskins Obituary

Homer “Junior” Haskins, 78, of Salem passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at his residence with family by his side. He was born February 5, 1947 in Clarksburg, WV, son of the late Charles Thomas and Rosalee Weekley Haskins.

Junior served in the National Guard and was in the ready reserves for twenty-two years and worked for the WV Armory Board at the Salem Armory for forty-four years.  Junior enjoyed fishing, collecting coins and watching NASCAR with Jeff Gordon being his favorite driver. He loved to work and spend time with his family, especially the twin granddaughters that he would spoil.  

Junior is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Diana Lynn Carder Haskins whom he married on March 15, 1977; one son, George Leon Haskins and wife Shelly, Buckhannon; twin granddaughters, Marisa and Mariah Haskins; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Junior is preceded in death by four siblings, Elizabeth “Betty” Clevenger, Kenneth Charles Haskins, John Haskins, and George Haskins.
