Homer R. McIntyre, 85, Route 4, Salem departed this life on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 in the Clarksburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on Monday, June 11, 1928 at Meadowbrook, a son of the late David and Lula Jenkins McIntyre. On September 9, 1961 he married Ruth Parker McIntyre who survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Marci Fleck and husband Ron of Maryland; one son David McIntyre, Salem; grandchildren, Tara McIntyre Patterson and husband, Scott, Andrew Fleck, and Matthew and Caleb McIntyre, great grandchildren, Savanna, Colton and Brynlee Patterson; and several nieces and nephews.
Several brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. McIntyre retired from Hope Gas Company on February 1, 1986 with 34years of service. He was in the United States Marines serving in World War II and Korean conflict.
Funeral Services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 11AM with Pastor Bill Parker presiding. Interment will follow in the Coplin Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Friday, August 30, 2013 from 4-8PM and after 9AM on Saturday until time of service.
