James Vernon Brown

James Vernon Brown, 56 of Crystal River, FL departed this life on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in his residence. He was born on February 2, 1960 in Wilmington, DE a son of Chester Brown, White Oak, Pa and the late Virginia Lykens Brown who was raised in Salem.

Surviving is one brother, Donn Chester Brown and wife Jody, Roanoke, WV. One brother, Norman Brown preceded him in death.

Mr. Brown had worked in the landscaping business and had been self employed as a heavy equipment broker. He was a graduate of Motorcycle Mechanic Institute in Orlando, FL. after attending Bridgeport High School. James was an avid Dirt Bike Racing enthusiast and was a Baptist.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 2:00PM with Pastor David Carpenter presiding. Interment will follow in K of P Memorial Park, Salem. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 6-8PM. Harbert Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Brown family.
