James Thomas Ferrell, 79, of Reynoldsville passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 in Morgantown. He was born on September 29, 1945 in Reynoldsville, a son of the late Tom Ferrell and Hazel Gillis Ferrell.
He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Kelley Ferrell who passed away on February 5, 2024.
He is survived by three children, John Ferrell of Guyton, GA, Sharon Ferrell of West Union and James Ferrell of Reynoldsville; five grandchildren, Vincent Bunnell, Alexander Allen and wife Samantha, Megan Allen and KJ Ferrell, Shea Ferrell and Kenneth Ferrell; siblings, Tim Ferrell, Mark Ferrell, Alma Jean Lasure, Judy Edwards and Mary Payne.
James was a mechanic for Tonkery Coal and the Southern Coal Company for many years until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an excellent mechanic and enjoyed working on cars as well as spending time with his dog “Molly.” In addition, he also enjoyed attending Upper Room Church.
