James Williams Obituary

James Michael Mike Williams, 46, of Route 5, Salem (Bristol Community) departed this life on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 following a courageous battle in the United Hospital Center. He was born on February 14, 1963 in Clarksburg a son of the late James Jim and Ruby Law Williams. Mike leaves behind his wife Sheree Nicholas Williams whom he married on February 13, 1983.

He will be sadly missed but not forgotten by his daughters, Alicia Ann Williams, Bristol, Stacy Dawn Williams and companion Danny Taylor, Bristol, the light of his life, granddaughter, Kammi Alisse McCloy, Bristol, sister, Teresa Linger and husband, Terry, Urbana, Oh, his one and only nephew, Jackson Ray Linger. One sister, Joyce Rae Williams, paternal grandparents, William and Mamie Williams, maternal grandparents, Clarence and Pearl Law preceded him in death.

Mike was a former employee of the Clarksburg Casket Company with 22 years of service. He was a member of Teamsters Local #789. Mike enjoyed the great outdoors including, fishing, hunting, 4 wheeling, NASCAR Races and shooting pool. Mike was an avid bowler and a member of the USBC Bowling Association for over 30 years, an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2353 and was a member of the Bristol United Methodist Church. He cherished valuable time spent with his family, friends and neighbors. Mike not only took care of his family but many others. He was the greatest husband, dad, papaw, brother and Uncle Mike. Mike will be sadly missed by many family members and friends.


Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the Bristol United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Coplin Cemetery, Jarvisville.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, October 24, 2009 in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem from 6-8PM and Sunday, October 25, 2009 from 2-8PM. Mr. Williams will lie in state one hour prior to his service on Monday.
