James I. Pratt, 85 of Orchard St. Salem departed this life on Wednesday, June 17, 2015. He was born on February 11, 1930 in Salem a son of the late James M. and Mamie Mayle Pratt. On June 27, 1957 he married Mary D. Shreve Pratt who survives.
Also surviving is one son, James J. Pratt, Salem and one brother, Ray Pratt, Clarksville, TN. One son, Mark A. Pratt, two sisters, Nelda Scott, Marlene Davidson and one brother, Carl Pratt preceded him in death.
Mr. Pratt was retired from Hope Natural Gas Company as a Field man with 40 years service. James attended Doddridge County High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was a member of Knight Pythias, Salem, Sperry-Davis Post #9151, Salem, Eagles Lodge #2352, Clarksburg, and was a supporter of Hurst Chapel United Methodist Church, Long Run Salem.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St. Salem on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11AM with Pastor Kevin Bender officiating. Interment will follow in the K of P Memorial Park, Salem. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 4-8PM.
