James Ross Obituary

James Ross, 90, of Big Issac Rd. Salem departed this life on Thursday, February 11, 2016 in Clarksburg, WV. He was born on January 14, 1926 in Red Lick, Doddridge County, WV, a son of the late Clarence Edward and Dora Yoke Ross. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Avanelle Cole Ross, whom he married on December 17,1949.

Also surviving are one daughter, Sherry Crutchfield, Parkersburg, WV, two sons, Gary Ross and wife Susie, Clarksburg, WV, and James E. Ross, Fairmont, WV. Granchildren, Bryan Ross and wife Lisa, Mark Ross and wife Jamie, Elliott Crutchfield and husband Greg Piccini, Eric Crutchfield and wife Samantha, Tyler Ross and Jordan Ross, Great grandchildren, Jagger Ross, Paxson Ross, Harper Ross, Hynlee Ross and Easton Cahill. He is also survived by one sister, Lucille Ross, Salem. James was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.

James was retired from Hope Natural Gas with 39 years service. James was a longtime member of Mt.Olive Baptist Church but currently attended Church of Good Shepherd. James loved horses, trail riding as well as bowling.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Sonny Palmer and Pastor Jon Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in the Point Pleasant Cemetery, Doddridge Co. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 2-4PM and 6-8PM Sunday, February 14, 2016. Harbert Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Ross family.
