James Raymond Smith,

James Raymond Smith Jr. 56, of Rt. 6 Clarksburg, (Sun Valley Community) departed this life of Tuesday, June 28, 2011 following a brief illness. He was born on October 6, 1954 in Jamacia, NY a son of James Raymond Smith Sr. and Thelma Lempp Smith, Bridgeport. On March 26, 2002 he married Carol Gasper Smith who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Tracy Brady, Clarksburg, Laura Driscoll, Halifax, Nova Scotia, one step-son, Fred Fuquay, Fairmont, one step-daughter, Christine Cochran, Mannington, five grandchildren, Rhiannon, Damian, Colin, Nathaniel John, and Leah and one brother, Gregg Steven Smith, Minot, ND. One sister, Linda Susan Vincent preceded him in death.

Jim worked in the Aeronautical Industry for 25 years and then he worked as a Home Health Care provider. He enjoyed fantasy football, baseball and fishing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family.

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, July 2, 2011 in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem at 1:00PM with Reverend Gregg Smith presiding. There will be a time of gathering one hour prior to the service.
