James “Jim” Clark Robinson, 82, of Salem passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025 at United Hospital Center surrounded by his family. He was born on September 24, 1942, in Charleston, West Virginia, son of the late Carmel Guy and Retha Jane Long Robinson. Jim married his wife, Sandra Sue Davis, on November 23, 1965 and who preceded him in death on June 16, 2006.
James graduated from Ravenswood High School and West Virginia University. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He co-owned the Ben Franklin Stores in Salem, WV and Grantsville, WV along with his wife. He enjoyed reading and was a military history buff. Jim loved spending time with family. He was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church and the American Legion.
Jim is survived by two sons and their spouses, John D Robinson (Padma) South Riding, VA, James C Robinson II (Jennifer), Fairmont; five grandchildren, Sita Marie Robinson, Chelsea Marie Bly (Steven), Lauren Elizabeth Johnson (Kayden), Elijah James Robinson, and Hannah Grace Robinson; four great grandchildren, Sawyer, Riley, Oliver, and Declan; one brother, Ronald Lee Robinson, New Haven, WV; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home - Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 4:00 pm until time of Funeral Service at 6:00PM with Pastor Elizabeth Jarrett officiating. Private interment will be at K of P Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the Local Honor Guard and the US Army Honor Guard.
