Jay David Powell

Jay David Powell, 61 of West Union passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at his residence. He was born October 29, 1959 in Clarksburg, WV, son of the late Howard Blaine and Naomi Jean Zinn Powell. Jay graduated from Doddridge County High School, Class of 1977 and received his Associate’s Degree from Salem College.  He retired as an Aircraft worker for Aurora Flight Sciences. Jay enjoyed coon hunting, playing the guitar and mandolin and spending time with his family. Jay is survived by his wife Paula “Sue” Golden Powell whom he married on November 24, 1980; one daughter, Heather Diane Spurlock and husband William “Billy”, Clarksburg; three grandchildren, Alexis Spurlock, Jaydon Spurlock, Jayce Spurlock; two brothers, Jeff Powell and Kimberly, West Union, Jason Powell, Salem; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, Salem on Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 1:00PM until the time of Jay’s Celebration of Life Service at 5:00PM with Pastor Aaron Morgan officiating.
