Jeffrey Stamm

Jeffrey Ottis Stamm 51, of Rt. 5 Salem departed this life on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at his residence. He was born on July 23, 1960 in Clarksburg a son of the late Robert O. and Phyllis J. Mullens Stamm.

Surviving is one son, Jefferey R. Stamm, Fairmont, one sister, Wilda Brown, Virginia Beach, VA, three brothers, Don Stamm and Robert Stamm, both of Salem, David Stamm, Clarksburg. One sister, Denise Marie Stamm preceded him in death.

Mr. Stamm was a business owner. He began Karate in 1973 at the Salem College Karate Club were he was also an assistant instructor. He worked his way through all of the belts and mastered a 5th Degree Black Belt. Jeff was an acclaimed kick boxer. Prior to becoming a Professional Fighter, he won numerous titles, including North Central WV Toughman Championship. He was a professor of Computer Science at his former alma mater, Salem College. Jeff was a talented musician, acclaimed singer, and songwriter. Jeff was an avid Harley Davidson collector and enjoyed riding his motor cycles. He also enjoyed activities such as mountain biking, hiking, fishing and hunting.

Jeff was a loving father, brother and friend and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 1:00PM. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery, Salem. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 2-8PM and after 9AM on Friday until time of service. A Reception will follow with time and location to be announced after graveside.
