John Leslie Davis

John Leslie Davis, 64, of Salem passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at United Hospital Center with family by his side. He was born March 22, 1961 in Clarksburg, WV, son of Martha Jane Posey Davis of Salem and the late Grover Merrill Davis Sr.

John graduated from Liberty High School. He was a truck driver his entire life last working for Waste Management. John loved fishing and hunting, being outdoors, and riding 4wheelers and motorcycles. He helped many in the community. John will be sadly missed by many.

In addition to his mother, John is survived by his sister, Tonya Webb, Salem; two brothers, Grover “Butch” Davis Jr (Beverly), Salem, Michael Davis and companion Michale, Weirton; nieces, Shari Webb (Adam), Brittany Cain (Doug), BJ Davis (Whitney), Aimee Smith (James), many cousins and extended family.

In addition to his father, John is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, John C and Cordellia Jane Allen Posey; paternal grandparents, John Leslie and Lille LuCinda Davis; brother-in-law, Dennis Webb; many aunts and uncles.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home - Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 11:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 2:00 PM with Pastor Carl Radcliff officiating. Interment will follow at Salem IOOF Cemetery.
