John Calvin Morris,79, of Park Drive, Pennsboro, formerly of Salem passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2009 in the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born on August 31, 1929 in Charleston a son of the late Clyde and Evelyn Shriver Morris. On June 25, 1988 he married Beatrice Catherine Hamilton Morris who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Stephen Lester Mayhew and wife Sandy, Silver Spring, MD, three daughters, Mary Beatrice Rosson, Concord, CA, Joan Annette Cunningham and husband Tim, Harpers Ferry, Pamela Jean Garrett, Frederick, MD, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, two sisters, Maxine Spevack, Tampa, FL, Madie Nichols, Mt. Airy, MD and several nieces and nephews. One brother, Francis Morris preceded him in death.
Mr. Morris was a retired electrician with IBEW Local 26 with 45 years of service. He enjoyed 4-wheeling, farming and all outdoor activities. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family.
Funeral services will be held in the Harbert Funeral Home on Friday, June 12, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Reverend Ernest L. White officiating. Family and friends will be received from 11:00 AM until time of service.
