Joyce Stubbs, 81, of Salem WV, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024 at her residence with family by her side. Joyce was born January 22, 1943, daughter of the late Jennings Lee and Beulah Beatrice Balis Cottrill. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her sister, Beatrice Ford. She is survived by her husband Jimmie Stubbs; her two children, Kevin (Rita) Stubbs of Salem, and Lisa (Carl) Ravin, West Union; granddaughters Alexandria and Katie Ravin, West Union. Alexandria was not only her granddaughter but her special caregiver for over more than a year at the end of her life. Staying by her bedside 24/7 for the last several days prior to her death. She is also survived by her sister Janice Starky, her twin sister, Salem WV; Betty Burnside, Salem and Nancy (Franklin) Gregg of Knoxville TN. Joyce is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins whom she adored. Joyce graduated from Doddridge County High School, Class of 1961. She was a faithful member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Joyce retired from the former Salem Industrial Home for Youth, as a cook. She was well known for her peanut butter fudge which she made many batches of each Holiday Season to share with friends and family. Friends will be received at the Davis Funeral Home-Salem, W Main Street, Salem, WV on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 10:00 AM until time of the funeral service at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Jeff Burnside officiating.
