Kenneth "Kenny" Hayes, 66 of Liberty St. Salem departed this life on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. He was born on December 20, 1947 in Doddridge County a son of Gertrude D. Leonard Hayes, Salem and the late Howard L. Hayes. On June 27, 1964 he married Dianna Whiteman Hayes who survives
Also surviving are two daughters, Loria Lett and husband Andrew, West Union, Kimberly Miller and husband David, Salem, two sons, Steven Hayes and wife Lisa, Madison Heights, VA, Kenny Hayes and wife Becky, Salem, five grandchildren, Miranda Miller, Ashton Hayes, Drew & Tanner Lett, Dakota Skinner, two sisters, Regina Riley and husband Jack, Hartsville, SC. Patty Davis, Salem, five brothers, William Hayes and wife Donna, Harlan Hayes and wife Jennie, James Hayes and wife Anita, Harold Hayes and wife Sue, all of Salem, Dennis Hayes and wife Sonya, West Union and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hayes was retired from the Kroger Company with 32 years service as a Meat Cutter. He enjoyed deer hunting & four-wheeling. Kenny was an avid NASCAR fan where he followed Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr.. He was a member of Friendship Lodge #56 AF & AM, a 32 Degree Scottish Rite Mason with membership in Clarksburg & Wheeling Bodies and Nemesis Shrine, Parkersburg.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 2:00PM with Pastor Jon Hayes presiding. Interment will follow in the K of P Memorial Park, Salem. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 2-8PM and after 9AM Friday until time of service. Friendship Lodge #56 will convene in the Harbert Funeral Home at 1:30PM for the purpose of attending and conducting Masonic Grave Rites.
