Laura Jo Hastings

Laura Jo Hastings, 90, of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Manchin Assisted Living. She was born on November 15, 1933, in Salem, WV, daughter of the late Harold and Wilma Sutton Burr.

Laura graduated from Salem High School. She retired after 30 years as Vice President of the First National Bank of Salem. Laura was a member of the Salem Baptist Church where she taught children’s Sunday School. She was an avid golfer and got a Hole-In-One at the Salem Country Club.

Laura is survived by her husband of 71 years, Robert J. Hastings; one son, Rick Hastings and wife Donna of Princeton; two grandchildren, Aaron and spouse Shelena, and Chad; three great grandchildren, Ridge, Laklyn, and Spencer; one brother, Jennings Burr of Salem.

In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by one sister, Jeannie Knight; three brothers, Gene Burr, Glenn Burr, Roger Burr, infant sister Mary Jo and infant brother Lyle.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home - Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 11:00AM until the time of the Memorial Service at 12:00 PM with Pastor Roger Fontaine officiating. Interment will follow at K of P Cemetery.
