Linda "Sue" (Dotson) Gruetter

   Linda “Sue” Gruetter, 81, of Big Battle Community in Doddridge County, WV, passed on May 8, 2024 at United Hospital Center with family by her side. Linda was born June 6, 1942 in Doddridge County, daughter of the late Joseph Wayne and Trella Mae Cain Dotson.  

    Sue graduated from Doddridge County High School. She worked in Central Supply for many years at United Hospital Center.  She enjoyed gardening, farming, canning, watching NASCAR, and going camping on Sutton Lake. Her love was spending time with family, especially the grandchildren. 

    Sue is survived by her husband John Lincoln Gruetter Sr; four sons, Richard “Rick” A Underwood, Salem, Michael K Underwood and Terry, Salem; John L Gruetter Jr, Harrisville, Michael Gruetter and Lisa, Colorado Springs, CO; six grandchildren, Kendra Mercer and Brian, Joshua Underwood and Kaitlyn, John Underwood and Brittney, Riley Gruetter and Mikayla, Jared Gruetter and Lauren; and Ryan Gruetter; four great grandchildren, Khloe, Caroline, Ameila, Lincoln, and Alex; one brother, Rendal Dotson, Center Point; one sister, Wilma “Jeannie” Taylor and Randy, Center Point; several nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Eugene Underwood on May 6, 1991; one grandson, Matthew Underwood; one sister, Carolyn Faye Morgan; one infant brother and one infant sister.

      A Memorial Service for Sue will be held at the Welcome Baptist Church on Big Battle Road in Doddridge County on Saturday, May 11, 2024. Visitors will be received starting at 11:00AM. The service will begin at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Robert Marino officiating. Private interment will be at the Center Point Cemetery at a later date.
