Lois Davis Obituary

Lois Loraine Davis, 88, of Jacob's Run Rd., Salem passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at her residence.

She was born July 16, 1925 in Wolf Summit, a daughter of the late Fred and Lucy Stonestreet Williams. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert L. Davis.



Also surviving are one daughter, Janet Rogers and husband, James A. Rogers, Marshville; one grandson, Douglas Underwood and wife, Michelle, Sanford, NC; four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Alex, Trey and Brooklin Underwood; sisters-in law, Joella Williams and Lois Morgan; and a special friend and caregiver, Arden Churchill.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Dennis Underwood; two sisters, Pauline Barker and Virginia Wilkinson; and four brothers, Charles, Fred, L.E. "Pete" and Lewis Williams.


Lois retired from the First National Bank in Salem in 1988. She enjoyed gardening, growing roses, delivering Meals on Wheels and traveling. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church and a lifelong member of the Salem community.



Funeral Services will be conducted at the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St, Salem on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 1PM with Pastors Don Flanigan and David Carpenter presiding. Interment will follow in the K. of P. Memorial Park, Salem. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Friday, November 22, 2013 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM.
