Lucian E. Nicholson, of Salem, known to everyone as Junior, age 79, passed away at 8:36 AM on
March 19, 2009 of natural causes.
He was born in Doddridge County, WV on February 26, 1930 to Lucian C. and Rosa Mae (Adams) Nicholson who preceded him in death.
Junior attended Doddridge County Schools. He worked for the Hope Gas Company. He medically
retired on Feb 2, 1982 with 32 years of credited service. He served in the Korean War as a signal corpsman, and was a lifetime member of the VFW in Salem, WV.
He is survived by his children, Lucia D. (Morrison) Condon, Livonia, Michigan; Daphne L. Rigle,
Kokomo, Indiana; and Terry L. Nicholson, Bridgeport, WV; grandchildren, Tracie N. Gottman,
Pinckney, Michigan; Brian Morrison, Sparks, Nevada; Thomas D. Rigle Jr, Kokomo, Indiana; and James E. Rigle, Kokomo, Indiana; a great grandson, Brendon Donavan Morrison, Sparks, Nevada, and a sister, Omalee Hill Closson, Overland Park, Kansas.
He is preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Esther Nicholson, Doddridge, WV, Roy Nicholson, Doddridge, WV, Gretna Chips Dotson, WV, Katherine Lowell, Wayne, Michigan; Emajene Marks, Salem, WV, and Charles Nicholson, Texas.
At his request, he will be cremated and there will be no public service.
