Lucille Hickman Obituary

Lucille May Drummond Hickman, 93 of Maplewood Community formerly of Valley St. Salem departed this life on Monday, February 23, 2015 in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. She was born in Clarksburg on July 12, 1921 a daughter of the late George W. and Alma R. Cathers Brown. Twice married she was preceded in death by her first husband Ralph Drummond and her second husband Frank Hickman.

Surviving is one son Gary R. Drummond and wife Chyrl, Good Hope, daughter-in-law, Patty Drummond, Lost Creek, grandchildren, Jim Drummond, Columbus, OH, Jason Drummond, Weston, Chad Drummond, Calvin Drummond, LaDonna Lewis all of Lost Creek, ten great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, sister-in law, Carolyn Nutter, a great friend, Lillian Molter. She was preceded in death by one son, John G. Drummond, one daughter, Carolyn Ruth Drummond, one granddaughter, Remona Drummond Shreves, two sisters, Lena Bailey Peterson and Ruth Turner.

Mrs. Hickman was retired from the Harrison County Board of Education as a cook. She was a member of the Bristol United Methodist Church where she had formerly played the piano. Lucille was a past president of Salem Senior Citizens. She was a fabulous cook and was known for her delicious pies. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting donating much of her work to charity. Lucille enjoyed playing bingo and cards with all of her Maplewood friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St, Salem on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 2:00PM with Pastor Saundra Boley officiating. Interment will follow in the K of P Memorial Park, Salem. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 11AM until service time.
