Mark Steven Richards

Mark Steven Richards, Sr. 53 of Rt. 5 Salem departed this life on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 in the United Hospital Center. He was born on September 28, 1958 in Dumfries, VA a son of the late Bobby Eugene and Helen Margaret Smith Price Richards.

Surviving are one daughter, Haley Richards, Salem, one son, Mark Steven Richards Jr. Marshville, one sister, Debbie (Wade) Eddy, Salem, four brothers, Carl K. Price and wife Irene, Hilliard, OH, Jim D. Richards, Leesburg, FL, Mike Richards, Martinsburg, Terry Richards, Salem. One brother, Bobby E. Richards and one sister, Barbara Price preceded him in death.

Mr. Richards was a 1979 graduate of Liberty High School. He was Correctional Officer for the Industrial Home for Youth. Mark was a member of Connecting Point Community Church and a former member of the W.V. National Guard. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 1:00PM with Pastor Peggy Williams presiding. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel on Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 2-4 & 6-8PM and after 9AM Friday until time of service.
