Marvin L. Freeman, 53 of Water St. Salem departed this life on Thursday, January 30, 2014 in the United Hospital Center. He was born in Annapolis, MD on December 29, 1960 a son of Arnol Freeman, FL, and Carolyn Ash Pritt, West Union. On September 20, 1980 he married Lois Richardson Freeman who survives.
Also surviving is two daughters, Christy Griffith, at home, Brandy Freeman and fianc Justin Brannon, Winchester, VA, one son Shane Freeman, Salem, grandchildren, William Griffith, Mark Holt, Coedell Brannon, and Amaysia Freeman, three brothers, Kenneth Freeman, FL,, Arnol Freeman, MD, Bryant Freeman, MD, five sisters Celeste Noe, West Union, Phyllis McKinney, Salem, Peggy Brinson, West Union, Dorothy Phillips, West Union and Elizabeth Freeman Kyle, MD.
Mr. Freeman had been self-employed as a roofer. He enjoyed cooking, watching movies and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 7:00PM with Pastor Jeff Burnside presiding. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel of Saturday from 4PM until service time.
