Mary Evelyn Carson, 87, formerly of West Union, departed this life on Saturday, March 2, 2013 in Genesis Health Care Center, Salem.
She was born on January 28, 1926, a daughter of the late Ezra and Bertha Prunty Trader. On June 23, 1946 she married Norman Earl Carson who preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 1988.
Surviving are three sons, James E. Carson, Fairmont, Robert Earl Carson, Washington State, and Donald Paul Carson, St. Marys; three grandsons; six great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nepews.
Four brothers, Wilbur, Walter, Roy & Robert Trader preceded her in death.
Mrs. Carson enjoyed cross word puzzles, word search, crocheting and quilting. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 11AM with Rev. Frank Carson presiding. Interment will follow in the Christian Church Cemetery, Center Point. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Monday, March 4, 2013 from 4-8PM.
