Mary Jean Sargent

Mary Jean Sargent, 89 of Salem departed this life on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 in the Fairmont Regional Hospital, Fairmont. She was born on October 4 1925 in Salem a daughter of the late Willard and Elizabeth Martin Randolph. Her husband Harlan Leo Sargent preceded her in death on July 13, 2006.

Surviving is one daughter, Sandie Wells and husband Bob, Fairmont, one son, Thomas Sargent and wife Nancy, Panama City, FL two granddaughters, Kelley Banjoman, Dana Kane, four great grandchildren, Hunter, Harley, Parker and Braxton, two sisters, Barbara Jo Sands, Vienna, Billie Lee Gill, Harrisville.

Mrs. Sargent worked for her father and uncle at Randolph Paint and Wallpaper in her younger years; but spent most of her life as Mother and homemaker. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Mary Jean enjoyed camping at Ashley Camp Grounds, square dancing, sewing, flower gardening and most importantly spending time with her family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 1:30PM with Pastor Dave Carpenter presiding. Interment will follow in the K of P Memorial Park, Salem. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 5-8PM.
