Obituary
Michael “Mike” Charles McKinney, 33, of Salem passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 after a long battle with mental illness. He was born October 9, 1989, in Clarksburg, son of Timothy Davis and Karen Irene Sue Staten McKinney.
Michael graduated from Doddridge County High School, Class of 2008 and WVU in 2016 with a degree in Forestry with honors. He had previously worked as a forester. He was an avid WVU fan, and enjoyed playing video games and basketball with his brother, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his three siblings, Samisa Elliott and Hollis, Salem, Mikasa Ash, Salem and T.J. McKinney and Winter, Clarksburg; nieces and nephews, Brandi, Jordan, Zachary, Jayda, Jaycent, Malachi, Braydon, Lilly, Braylon, Madison, Remedy, Andrew, Haleigha, Michala, Skyler, Machali, Xander, Bowen and Ceralynn; great nieces and nephews, Kaydence, Rowan, Chandler, and Grace; several aunts uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Big Isaac United Methodist Church, Salem, WV at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Tim Black officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his Care Fund on his memorial page. Online condolences may be sent to www.DavisFuneralHomeSalemWV.com.
