Naoma W. Schaefer

Naoma W. Schaefer, 87, of Marietta, OH, formerly of Salem passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2009 in the Marietta Care Center. She was born on June 19, 1922 in Wolf Summit a daughter of the late Robert E. and Alta Lea Mossberg Wolfe. On March 13, 1964 her husband Shirley Babe Starkey, Jr preceded her in death.

Surviving is a daughter-in-law, Charlene Starkey, Marietta, OH, three grandchildren, Lora Dawn Peckens, Andrew Starkey, David M. Starkey, six great grandchildren, Dustin Starkey, Letitia Starkey, Christopher Peckens, Dakota Peckens, Colin Starkey, Madison Starkey and two great great grandchildren.

One son, Earl E. Eddie Starkey, four sisters, Iris Hathaway, Virginia Facemire, Roberta L. Wolfe, Eva R. Wolfe and one brother Kenneth Wolfe preceded her in death.



Mrs. Schaefer was a member of the Hurst Chapel United Methodist Church, where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher for 13 years. She had served as a leader in the Doddridge County Democrat Club. Mrs. Schaefer was a loving mother and grandmother and was affectionately referred to as Boss.



Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in the Wolverton Cemetery at Waldo Run.
