Nina Luree Summers Cleavenger, 85, formerly of Nutter St., Clarksburg departed this life on Friday February 22, 2013 at The Heritage, Bridgeport. She was born on April 1, 1927 in Pennsboro a daughter of the late George Laken and Opie Icie Bayne Summers. On March 1, 1948 she married James Ray Cleavenger, Sr. who preceded her in death on May 4, 2009.
Also surviving are one daughter, Deanna Rae Cleavenger Bell and husband Larry, Bridgeport, two sons, James Ray Cleavenger, Jr. and wife Cathy, Edenton, NC, Stanley Wayne Cleavenger and wife Michelle, Chesapeake, VA, six grandchildren, Jessica Lauren Bell, Lynchburg, VA, Kenan Nathaniel Bell and wife Bethany, Lynchburg, VA, Elizabeth Austin Cleavenger Ligon and husband Colin, New Haven, CT., Grant James Cleavenger, Kirsten Luree Cleavenger, and Chase Ray Cleavenger, two great granddaughters, Violet Zada, Sophia Ryan, two sisters, Marjorie Jane Lamm Fouss, Pennsboro, Elizabeth Ann (Babe) Peters, Grafton, and several nieces and nephews. Four sisters, Wilda Powell Tenny, Roxa Lee Lamm, Mary Jean Bramer and Vivian J. Buckhannon preceded her in death.
Mrs. Cleavenger attended Fellowship Bible Church, Bridgeport. Nina always put her family first and she handmade many beautiful quilts. She was a loving mother, grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Quiet Dell on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 2:00PM with Larry A. Bell presiding. The family will receive friends in the mausoleum chapel on Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 12PM until time of service.
