Norma Ellen Bland

Norma Ellen Bland, 90, of Salem passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Bridgeport Healthcare Center. Norma was born February 25, 1931 in Alum Bank, WV.

Norma graduated Salem High School. She was a bank teller at First National Bank in Salem. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and going to Festivals and being a craft vendor.  She was a member of Lyda Chapel United Methodist Church.   

Norma is survived by a nephew, Demetrius Travis, Salem; great nephew, Demetrius James “D.J.” Travis and wife Kara, Salem, several additional nieces and nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by Stephen Robert Bland that passed on April 5, 2017; siblings, Mildred Thelma Devericks Travis Chumley; Edwin Brent Devericks and one twin sister Orma Belle Devericks in infancy. 

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021 at the WV National Cemetery with Pastor Sonny Smith officiating. Online condolences may be sent at www.davisfuneralhomesalemwv.com. Davis Funeral Home Salem is handling the arrangements and honored to serve the Bland family.
