Opal Mae Golden, 84 of Salem departed this life in Mantua, OH on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. She was born on September 3, 1932 in Harrison County a daughter of the late Oral W. and Wanda M. Smith Drummond.
Surviving are three daughters, Clara Kay Shurmer and husband Jeff, Akron, OH, Janice Mae Anderson and husband Larry, Mantua, OH Sarah F. Crouse, Salem, four sons, Edward Oral Golden, Elkins, Alan J. Golden, Salem, Douglas E. Golden, SC, Everett L. Golden, Bridgeport, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one sister, Alessia Ann McKinney, West Union. One sister, Frances Elaine Gwinn, one brother, Arnold Drummond precedes her in death.
She was a member of the Church of God, Salem and enjoyed crafts and working crossword puzzles. Opal was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11:00AM with Pastor Mike Cox presiding. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Mt. Clare. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 4-8PM.
