Patricia Marie Flanigan, 73, of Route 5, Salem passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 in the United Hospital Center. She was born on January 11, 1935 in Doddridge County a daughter of the late Paul Ford and Trixie June Seckman Currey. On November 16, 1951 she married Don Flanigan who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Don Roger Flanigan and former wife, Karen, Charles Flanigan and wife, Marilyn both of Salem, four grandchildren, Michael Flanigan and wife, Amanda, Donielle Miker and husband, Eric, Dereck Flanigan and wife, Alana, Shannon Flanigan, two step grandchildren, Erica Walls and CPL Joshua Walls, one great granddaughter, Raven J. Flanigan, one sister, Gertrude F. Compton, Salem and 23 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Genova G. Allen, Mary E. Piggott, Dorthy J. Hutson, Mildred Cork and four brothers, David P., Joseph E., Thaddeus S. and John W. Currey.
Mrs. Flanigan had worked in the garment industry in Petersburg and later worked for Myles Manufacturing in West Union. She enjoyed cooking for her family, traveling and shopping with her special friends. Marie was a member of Orpha Chapter # 30 OES, Salem and the Welcome Baptist Church.
Friends may call in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem on Friday, October 3, 2008 from 2-8PM and after 9AM on Saturday until time of service. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 4th at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Robert Merritt officiating.
