Our beloved mother Patty Skinner, 65, of Salem went home to be with the Lord and her husband on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 in the home of her daughter surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 23, 1948 in Doddridge County, a daughter of the late James and Suvina "Viny" Richards Fox. On June 3, 1967 she married Walter Thomas Skinner who preceded her in death on March 14, 2014.
Surviving are one daughter, Tammy Hall and husband Matthew, Clarksburg, two sons, Thomas Skinner and wife Ann, Zanesville, OH, Craig Skinner and fianc Kristi, Bridgeport, grandchildren, Matthew Hall II, Dakota Skinner, step grandchildren, Tiffany Sullivan,Chisago,MN, Tara Strickland,Colorado Springs, CO, and Christan Bevins Haunty, step great grandchildren, Logan Ferrebee and Charlie Ann Strickland, five sisters, Mary Spence, Clarksburg, Betty Mayle, Salem, Juanita Hall, Lower Fork, VA, Delores Seckman, Salem, Virginia Frazier, Middlebourne and several nieces and nephews and two close friends, Mary Arbogast and Brad Sutton. One brother, Ed Fox and one sister, Freda Greynolds preceded her in death.
Mrs. Skinner was an employee of Genesis Health Care Center, Salem for 21 years in the housekeeping department. She had met many people while employed at the nursing home. Patty enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of God, Salem.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 10:30AM with Pastor Jim Sanders presiding. Interment will follow in the W.V. National Cemetery, Pruntytown. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, October 2, 2014 from 4-8PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
