Renate Maria (Lanna) Franz

Renate Maria Franz, 103, of Salem, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Clarksburg Healthcare Center.  She was born on July 24, 1921 Frankfurt, Germany daughter of the late Heirich Zimmer and Barbara Lanna.

Renate was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing solitaire, doing word searches and cooking. Renate loved spending time with family.  

Renate is survived by her son, Peter Sander (Elizabeth) Salem; three grandchildren, Connie Simmons, Big Flint, Chris Sander, Bridgeport, and Anna Sander, Salem; six great grandchildren, Carrie, Chantel (Jason), Casey (Eric), Chad, Felicity, and Gabby; eleven great great grandchildren, Caden, Shylynn, Jason, Bella, Baylee, Hunter, Hunter, Camden, Adam, Amelia, and Paytin; one great great great grandson, Kendrix; one brother, Jurgen Zimmer (Linda), Myrtle Beach, SC; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Renate is preceded in death by her first husband, Helmut Sander; second husband, Karl Franz; and seven siblings
