Rev. Stanley Lee Herrod

Rev. Stanley Lee Herrod, 77 of Wallace, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 30, 2021 at United Hospital Center. He was born October 23, 1943 in Clarksburg, son of the late Rev. Dewain L and Wilma Mae Shaffer Herrod.

Stanley graduated from Antelope High School, Wellton, AZ, Class of 1962. He has been a minster for over fifty years with most of his time at Olive Branch Baptist Church. He also was a truckdriver for over thirty years working for Overnight Trucking and later owned his own truck. Stanley enjoyed farming, watching westerns, working on the sawmill, riding UTV’s and loved spending time with family and walks with the grandchildren.  He enjoyed life and had a smile and would make you laugh with his jokes.

Stanley is survived by his wife of fifty five years, Sylviann Ellen Sanderson Herrod whom he married on June 16, 1965; six children, Jeanette Eileen Schoonover and Brian, Philippi, Corina Sondra King and Neil, Fairmont, Rev Stanley Lee Herrod II and Christina, Jane Lew, Andrew Dewain Herrod and Lydia, Wallace, Christopher Alan Herrod and Yukari, Ardsley, NY; Nathanael Herrod, Clarksburg; thirteen grandchildren, Matthew, Rebekah, Hannah, Sarah, Madalynn, Savannah, Amos, Ambrosette, Abigail, Aidan, Elisha, Claire, and Lucas; three siblings, Paul Herrod and Sharon, Rick Herrod and Beth, Cheryl Swiger all of Marshville; numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his grandson, Benjamin, and brother-in-law, Lee Swiger.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home of Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 4-8PM. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 2:00pm with Rev Randy Plaugher, Rev Jeff Burnside, and Rev Kenny Lloyd officiating. Interment will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery.Davis Funeral Home of Salem is honored to serve the Herrod family.
