Richard Murphy Obituary

Richard Lee Murphy, 51, of George St., Salem departed this life on Monday, April 25, 2011. He was born on January 26, 1960 in Clarksburg a son of the late Herbert and Thelma Smith Murphy.

Surviving are one daughter, Dorenda Carder and companion John Davis, Salem, one son, Richard Todd Hartley, Salem, two grandsons, Josiah Richard Franklin Gulas, and Malaki Samuel Gulas, two brothers, Lawrence Edward Murphy, Ohio, Michael Murphy, Salem, four sisters, Delores Dugger and husband Billy, Conroe, TX, Barbara Barker and husband Larry, Salem, Sharon Lattea, Bristol, Karen Sue Murphy, Clarksburg, several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Jerry and Cecil Murphy, four sisters, Wanda Lattea, Margaret Gochenhour, Jean Seminick and Janet Louise Murphy preceded him in death.

Mr. Murphy was a laborer in the Oil and Gas Industry. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Rick was a loving father, grandfather and brother and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 12 Noon with Pastor Harley Jeffries presiding. Interment will follow in the Christian Church Cemetery, Center Point.
The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 10AM until time of service.
