Richard “Rick” Frederick Stamm, 77 of Salem passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at his residence. He was born August 13, 1946 in Industrial, WV, the son of the late Arthur Frederick and Wilma Mae Hayes Stamm.
Richard graduated from Doddridge County High School, Class of 1964. He went on to serve his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War and was past commander of the K of P Lodge. Richard worked all his adult life for Consolidated Gas. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 9151 and had recently joined the West Union Post 3408. He enjoyed playing golf and fly fishing. He was Methodist by faith.
Richard is survived by his sister, Doris (Robert) Shaffer, White Marsh, MD; four very precious nieces, Melissa Stamm, Murfreesboro, TN, Stephanie (Greg) Roberts, Salem, Jennifer (Brian) Owens, Salem, Amanda (Brian) Allen, Misawa, Japan. Also, very dear to him was four great nieces and nephews, Bailey and Parker Roberts, Michael and Natalie Allen; and sister-in-law, Dianne Stamm, Salem.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Michael W Stamm.
Family and friends will meet at Davis Funeral Home in Salem on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 3-7PM and on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00AM with Pastor Bob Marino officiating. Interment will follow at K of P Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and the US Army Honor Guard.
