Robert Moore Obituary

Robert S. Moore, 70, of West Union, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at United Hospital Center. Born on March 21, 1956, in West Union, he was the beloved son of the late Harvey Moore and Lona Wilson Moore.

Robert leaves behind the love of his life, his wife, Sandra “Sandy” K. Boatright Moore, along with a family who meant everything to him. He is survived by his son, Robert Moore and wife Heather of Smithburg; three cherished stepchildren, Heather McKown and husband D.L., Michael Boatright and wife Nikki, and Jeremy Boatright and wife Ivory. Robert was a proud and devoted Pap to ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy; siblings: He is also survived by his loving siblings, Omie Ferrell and Alden “Bobe” Moore.

The family would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Robert's dear friends—Corey, Gib, John Paul ("Sam"), Graham, and Jay. Their unwavering friendship, support, and presence throughout the years meant more to Robert than words can express, and the family is deeply thankful for the love and loyalty they showed him.

A graduate of Doddridge County High School, Class of 1976, Robert dedicated several years of his career to Simonton Windows Pipeline. He was a hardworking man who took pride in everything he did.

Robert found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He loved woodworking, spending time in the outdoors, hunting, and shooting guns. Whether in the woods, working with his hands, or enjoying nature, he felt most at home surrounded by the things he loved.

Those who knew Robert will remember his gift for conversation and his genuine enjoyment of being around others. He was talkative and friendly, always ready to share a story, lend an ear, or strike up a conversation. His determination, easygoing nature, and warm personality made him someone people naturally gravitated toward. He leaves behind countless memories and a legacy of love, laughter, and friendship that will be treasured by all who knew him.

Though he will be deeply missed, Robert's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
