Robert Michael "Mike" Nelson

Robert Michael “Mike” Nelson, 79 of Salem passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Genesis Salem Center. He was born November 25, 1941 in Clarksburg, son of the late Joseph M and Clara B Kimble Nelson. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jo Stoner and brother, John Nelson.

Mike is survived by his wife, Christina Ruth Royer Nelson; two cousins, Lynn Knapp and Barbara Moore, Elizabeth City, NC; stepdaughter, Christy Howell and husband Tony Kirk, Salem; step grandchildren, Casey May Smith, Salem, Chase Christopher Howell, Bridgeport, Chance Von Howell, Salem and Caitlynne Rose Howell, Salem.

He graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College. Mike retried from the United Postal Service in the Maintenance Department. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ, Clarksburg. He was an Alumni of the Wesleyan College and the Mathematical Association of America.

A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, 1036 Mount Clare Rd, Clarksburg on Friday, March 26. 2021 at 5:00PM with Pastor David Carpenter from Salem Baptist Church officiating.
