Robert “Bob” Linton Barnes, 73, of Salem passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at his daughters’ residence where he had made his home. He was born September 23, 1949 in Clarksburg, son of the late William Raymond and Magnolia Lavina Davis Barnes.
Bob attended Pennsboro High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He was an OTR Truck Driver for forty plus years and last working for Dandy Trucking out of Warrendale, PA where he reached driving over one million miles. He enjoyed collecting coins and ducks, and was an avid reader. Bob was a member of the Salem VFW 9151, American Legion 13, Clarksburg, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Clarksburg, and the Loyal Order of the Moose, Clarksburg.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Robin Lynn McDonald and Jesse, Clarksburg; five grandchildren, Cassie Coe, Noah Lehosit, Briana Lawson and Josh, Hunter McDonald and Savory, and Patience Marrow and Neil; seven great grandchildren, Tegan, Braxton, Easton, Lucas, Oliver, Briley, and Ila; one sister, Debra Hutson and Darrell, Salem; one brother, Joe Barnes, Parkersburg; sister-in-law, Vickie Perine, Berea; several nieces and nephews; and his four legged companion, Chloe.
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by three brothers, Michael Barnes, James Barnes and Randall Barnes; one sister, Dorothy Guth and Joe; one nephew, Kurt Guth.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home - Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Monday, July 17, 2023 from 3:00-7:00PM and on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service 11:00AM with Pastor Chad Ash officiating.
