Ronnie Dale Smith, 76, of Salem passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at his residence with family by his side. He was born on March 2, 1948 in West Union, son of the late Winfred and Irene LaVonne Stuart Smith.
Ronnie graduated from Doddridge County High School. He then enlisted into the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for the B&O Railroad, Chessie System and retired from CSX Railroad as a track foreman. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, going to his hunting camp, playing cards and gardening. He was a member of the West Union Church of Christ, Friendship Lodge #56, West Union where he was 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the York Rite, along with the American Legion Bridgeport Post #68.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pamela Patricia Cox Smith, whom he married on March 29, 1969; children, William Smith (Kristy), Charleston, Elizabeth Smith, Salem, and Melanie Coen, Salem; two grandchildren, Noah Smtih and Mattie Smith; siblings, Keith Smith (Ellie), Parkersburg, Karen Smith, West Union, Betty Dailey (Dave), Parkersburg; sister-in-law Agnus Smith, Parkersburg; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Smith.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home - Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 3:00pm until the time of the funeral service at 7:00pm with Pastor Noah West officiating.
