Rosalee D. Davis, 85, of Salem went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, April 1, 2009. She was born on August 26, 1923 in Salem, beloved daughter of the late Troy E. and Doris E. Pepper Davis.
Dear sister of Margaret Ann Peggy Kapolka and husband George, Parma, OH, sister-in-law, Mary Davis, Plymouth, MI. Two brothers, Kenneth H. Davis and Charles L. Davis preceded her in death. Treasured aunt of Chuck Davis and wife Michelle, Arthur Davis and wife Laurie, Anne Davis Murphy and husband Paul, Pamela Knight and husband Tim, Craig Kapolka and Jeff Kapolka. Precious great aunt of Adam, Michael, Jenna, Daniel, Kayla, Ryan, Julie, Becky, Hannah, John, Kyle, Jaclyn and Justin. She had many devoted cousins who kept in touch and were helpful to her over the years.
Miss Davis retired on August 1988 from Salem College as an Administrative Assistant to the Dean of the college with 20 years of service. She worked for Monongahela Power Company for 20 years in Clarksburg, Parkersburg, Buckhannon and Salem, before she accepted her position with the college. Miss Davis was a graduate of Salem High School, Parkersburg Business College and Salem College. She was a member of Orpha Chapter 30 Order of Eastern Star and was a past president of the Salem Business Professional Women. Miss Davis had volunteered at Americare as well as other volunteer work. She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church where she served in many different capacities as long as she was able. Rosalee was a kind and friendly person to all. She had many cherished friends whom she loved and were loved by. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Memorial services will be held in the Salem United Methodist Church, East Main St., Salem on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 12 noon with Reverend Kevin Bender presiding. There will be a time of remembrance from 11AM until time of service. Interment will follow in the Odd Fellows Memorial Park, Salem. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salem United Methodist Church, 183 E. Main St., Salem, WV 26426.
