Obituary
Russell “Russ” Winfield Reed, 73, of Salem passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He was born February 26, 1950 in Clarksburg, son of the late John Willard and Betty Madeline Burge Reed.
Russ graduated from Doddridge County High School, Class of 1968. He served his country in the United States Navy. He worked at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a Mechanical Engineer with over twenty years of service. He enjoyed reading his bible and other books, fishing, collecting eagles, playing solitaire, watching wrestling, doing word searches and puzzles.
Russ is survived by four children, Amber D Cantor, Salem, WV, Joy Roseanne Reed, Ashland, KY, Rachel L Reed and fiancé Robert, Norristown, PA, and Jonathan Reed, State College, PA; six grandchildren, Ronell, Zackary, Sonny, Saleigha, Carmen, and Joyce one sister, Loretta Siders and husband Bobby, Salem; special nieces, Tina Jones, Pennsboro, Tammie Morrison and fiancé Gary Richards, Salem and her son, Ryan Morrison; several additional nieces and nephews; and his four legged companions, Cinnamon and Parker .
In addition to his parents, Russ is preceded in death by one brother, John H Reed; and one sister, Rosemary Morrison.
