Ruth Elizabeth Randolph

Ruth Elizabeth Randolph, 92, of Salem, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Ruth was born March 8, 1930 in Clarksburg, daughter of the late Forest Wayman Randolph and Ireta Ruth Queen Randolph. She is survived by two nephews, Dalyn (Beth) Currey of Mickleton, NJ, and Neil (Martha) Randolph of New Manchester, WV; one grand-nephew, Stuart Currey of Hong Kong, China; one grand-niece, Jaclyn Randolph of Alexandria, VA.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her siblings, Forest W. Randolph Jr., John Henry Randolph, and Mary Etta Randolph. Ruth was a graduate from Bristol High School and West Virginia Business College of Clarksburg. She held a variety of positions in the business field, lastly employed by Tetrick and Bartlett, Certified Public Accountants, as a general office worker.

Ruth was a member of the Marshville Baptist Church where she served as a Trustee and a Sunday School Secretary. She was also active in the Judson Baptist Association. She was a member and former leader of the local Marshville 4-H Club. She also served as President of the Harrison County Senior Citizens Association for many years.

Ruth was a talented wood carver who exhibited and sold her carvings throughout the local area.  She was a dedicated member of the Zane Grey Society and attended their national meetings when possible. Ruth was also a collector of novels by Zane Grey and others of that style. She and her brother, F.W. (Bud) Randolph, spent many weekends over the years compiling genealogical records of the Randolph family. Ruth was well known in the area for her hats and her witty sense of humor.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home - Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 5-7PM. Family request that all visitors wear mask. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Pastor John Mark officiating.
