Scott Craig Farley, 60, of Salem formerly of Pratt, WV passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024. He was born on June 1, 1963 in Akron, OH, the son of Albert E and Nancy Brewer Farley of Pennsboro.
Scott is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Sue Jackson Farley.
Scott graduated from Lewis County High School Class of 1981. He also attended Ohio Valley College, WV Tech and Bear Valley Bible Institute. Scott was a coal miner for 10 years, working at Patriot Coal and Massey Energy Company as a Fire Boss. He was a Christian by Faith and a Minister of God’s Word. He preached the word of God at several churches: Boomer Church of Christ, Seth Church of Christ, Madison Church of Christ, Stewart Park Church of Christ in Cross Lanes, and most recently preaching at Salem Church of Christ. He also preached at several gospel meetings, was the co-editor of Mountain Messenger (Added to the Church Christian Publication) with DJ Curry, and found joy in helping with the Surprise Valley Camp in Beckley. He also supported the Potter’s Children’s Home and Family Ministries. Aside from ministry, Scott loved to spend time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Scott is survived by his daughter, Andrea of Charleston; two grandchildren, Destiny and Anthony; one great granddaughter, Dream; three siblings, Clista (Dennis) Heintzman of Pennsboro, Rebecca (Scott) Ragle of Ackerly, TX, and Elisabeth (Jason) Taylor of Martinsburg; several beloved nieces and nephews.
Scott is preceded in passing by his son, J. Scott Dressler.
Family and friends will meet at Davis Funeral Home in Salem on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 4:00PM until the time of the Celebration of Life Service at 6:00PM with Rick Tincher and Dan Kessinger officiating.
Family and friends will meet at O’Dell Funeral Home in Montgomery on Monday, May, 13, 2024 from 12noon until the time of the Celebration of Life Service at 2:00PM with Mike Tichner and DJ Curry officiating.
