Shawna Leigh Walters

Shawna Leigh Walters, 37, of Salem passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at her home.  She was born on September 10, 1987 in Dover, New Hampshire a daughter of David Chipps and wife Patti of Parkersburg and Laura Chalifoux LaBarre and husband Peter of Plainfield, CT.

In addition to her parents, Shawna is also survived by two sons, Lothair Walters and Halcyon Walters, both of Salem and one brother, Cory Chipps and his companion Quinn of Tyler County.

Shawna was a 2005 graduate of Tyler County High School and she was employed with Texas Roadhouse.  Shawna Walters was a beautiful soul whose love knew no limits. She had a deep passion for music, and nothing made her happier than playing her guitar and singing from the heart. Her voice and spirit brought comfort and joy to those lucky enough to know her.  More than anything, Shawna loved her sons, they were her world, and she poured every ounce of herself into being the best mother she could be. Her love wasn’t just spoken, it was shown in every hug, every act of kindness, and every moment of support she gave without hesitation.  Shawna had a giant heart and a warm, loving presence that made everyone feel like family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her compassion, strength, and the light she brought into the lives of so many.
