Shirley Ann (Davis) Ash

Shirley Ann Ash, 88, of Middlebourne formerly of Bridgeport passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the New Martinsville Health and Rehabilitation Center with family by her side. She was born on December 5, 1935 in Salem, daughter of the late Henry Gaines and Esther Mae Brown Davis.

Shirley was a homemaker and collected angels. She enjoyed playing ball with the grandkids in the back yard, spending time with the family, being active in the community and visiting with friends in the nursing homes. Shirley was a member of Bridgeport United Methodist Church where she was active with the church and in the church choir, Queen Esther Chapter #11, Order of the Eastern Star, Order of the Amaranth and the Rebekah Lodge.

Shirley is survived by her three daughters, Cheryl Skeen (Van Morris) Fairmont, Debbie Jones (Charley) Howard, OH, Sandy Thomas (Larry), Middlebourne; six grandchildren, Melanie Gregory (Matt), Christie Shaffer, Joe Shaver (Noel), Shane Thomas (Carrie), Ben Thomas (Katrina) and Ryan Thomas (Amanda); eighteen great grandchildren, Eli, Jude, Nick, Aryhiana, Raeleigh, Braxton, Hayden, Carter, Jadyn, Adalyn, Ashton, Lakyn, Kaizlyn, Abby, Landon, Brenley, Tyler, and Evalynn; one brother, Roger Davis (Rita) Broken Arrow, OK; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Rev Dorsey Rea Ash on September 18, 2007; siblings, Jean McQuaid and Don Davis.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home - Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 3-7PM and on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 9:00AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00AM with Pastor Ben Thomas and Assistant Pastor Debbie Bird officiating.
