Shirley Marie (Ludwig) Skalstad

Shirley M. Skalstad, 85 of Salem formerly of Baltimore, MD passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at her residence. She was born March 18, 1935 in Baltimore, MD, daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Bateman Ludwig. Shirley was a bartender. She was a caregiver to many and would help anyone that needed it.  Shirley had a great sense of humor and enjoyed singing. Shirley is survived by her six children, Fred Dixon and Susan, Freeland, Md, Darlene Heavener, Salem, Michael Dixon, Huntsville, AL, John Dixon and Donna, Glen Burnie, MD, Dean Dixon and Cindy, Harford County, MD, Christian Dixon, Blair, MD; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Skalstad; one daughter, Shirley M Dixon; siblings, Katherine, Charles Jr “Buck”, Theresa and Anna. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home - Salem, 1999 W Main Street, Salem, WV, on Friday, October 30, 2020 from 1:00PM until time of the Catholic Funeral Rite at 5:00PM with Rev. Father Akila Rodrigo presiding with proper distancing and face mask required.
