Stephen Ray Barker

Stephen R. Barker, 63 of Flinderation Rd. Salem departed this life on Saturday, October 26, 2013 in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Clarksburg on July 26, 1950 a son of the late Homer and Opal Irene Strother Barker. On May 12, 2008 he was preceded in death by his wife Linda Sue Barker.

Surviving are three sons, Brad Barker and wife Ashlee, Morgantown, Steven Murphy and wife Musetta, Stonewood, Douglas Tresize and wife Ashley, Lumberport, three grandchildren, Brooke Collins, Breanna Murphy and Carmine Tresize, four sisters, Eleanor Pratt, Evelyn Davis, Lorraine Moore, all of Salem, Betty Yeater, Colliers, WV, two brothers, Larry Barker, Salem, Chuck Barker, Anmoore, several nieces and nephews and his trusted K-9 companion, "Lina". He was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald, Ronald, Gary and William Joe Barker, three sisters, Virginia Bonnell, Rosa Lee Barker and Cookie Cadero.

Mr. Barker had been employed by Manganus Painting Company as a Steeple Jack Painter with 37 years' service; he had also worked for Mutschelknaus Oil & Gas Company as a Well Tender for 10 years. Stephen was a loving father, grandfather and brother and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.



At Mr. Barker's request he was cremated. There will be a time of gathering on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the Erickson Center, Salem from 11:30AM to 4:00PM.
