Ulrich Schnaack, 79, of Center Point, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025 in Bridgeport. He was born on June 25, 1946 in Bitburg, Germany, a son of the late Fritz Schnaack and Martine Tempel Schnaack.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joe “Jody” Hicks Schnaack, whom he married on December 13, 1979.
He is also survived by one son Eric Schnaack; and three stepchildren, Launda Sapp, Michael Delaine Friedlander and Duane Friedlander; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Elsa Mair; nephews, Hanz, Jr., Martin, Robert and Christopher Mair.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one stepson, Michael Friedlander.
Ulrich dedicated 38 years of his career as a design engineer with Black and Decker, where his skill and commitment left a lasting mark. Outside of work, he enjoyed all kinds of sports, was a fan of word games, and had a special talent for playing cards. Ulrich was quiet by nature, with a laid-back, easygoing personality that made him a steady and calming presence to those around him. His family and friends will remember him for his gentle spirit, his love of games and competition, and the many ways he enriched their lives. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
